Composer, singer and drummer, and winner of the prestigious Thelonious Monk competition, Jamison Ross, will participate in the jury, give master class and perform at the Gala concert on April 4th, when the Awarding ceremony of the contest will take place.
On April 2, Live performances will take place with the participation of artists from the United States, Great Britain, Germany, Sweden, Turkey, Japan, as well as Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and others. The Contest Finale will take place on April 3 featuring the jury's most recognized contestants.
Contestants performances will be judged by an international jury – artistic director of the competition Māris Briežkalns, artistic director of Nõmme Jazz – Toivo Unt (Estonia), director of Kaunas Jazz festival – Jonas Jučas (Lithuania), artistic director of Venice Jazz Festival – Giuseppe Mormile (Italy), program coordinator at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in London – Paul Pace (UK), artistic director of Nardis Jazz Club – Onder Focan (Turkey) and others. Honorary representative of the jury will be Maestro Raimonds Pauls, who will present his special prize, which is a new hit recording at Latvian Radio 1 studio, with Raimonds Pauls as co-producer.
Riga Jazz Stage was founded in 2004 and in 2020 will be held for the 13th time, bringing together young musical talents from all around the world.
