Ticket sales have started for the concerts by Italian bandoneonist Daniele di Bonaventura and the young Cuban star Jorge Luis Pacheco at the Riga Cathedral Garden on July 4 and 5.
Composer, arranger, pianist, and bandoneon player Daniele di Bonaventura has never confined himself to one style. His musical projects range from classical music to film, theater and contemporary dance performance music, incorporating both jazz and global or world music along the way, with the artist's favorite style being tango. It is with this program that Daniele di Bonaventura will delight the visitors of the Rīgas Ritmi Festival 2024, conducting Latvian chamber orchestra Sinfonietta Rīga. In the project Tango Suite Daniele is both a composer, a performer, and an interpreter, and it is considered one of the highest points in his career.
Jorge Luis Pacheco is one of the leading Cuban jazz pianists of the new generation, to whom music critics have already attributed a unique playing style and "flying hands", as well as the status of a real showman. The winner of the Montreux Jazz Piano Solo Competition is also a vocalist, percussionist, composer, and musical director.
"Pacheco is truly a phenomenon of piano playing, a continuation of the tradition of Chucho Valdes, but more importantly, a pianist with his own identity..." says multiple Grammy Award winner and pianist Arturo O'Farrill.
Other festival locations will be announced along with its full program.
