Working on “Latvian Jazz Suite Vol. II” Latvian Radio Bigband invited with young, talented and promising Latvian musicians and composers – pianists Rūdolfs Macats and Krists Auznieks, as well as guitarist Matīss Čudars, laureate of Riga Jazz Stage 2017. Aforementioned musicians have also arranged pieces for the albums’ program.

Continuing the tradition, “Latvian Jazz Suite Vol. II” included pieces uniting both a tripartite form and a fresh, modern vision to the jazz sound. Inspiration was provided by the Latvian nature, urban ambiance, writers and mild feelings. It wages to a deeper question and reflects on artworks’ names, for example, „Saules bērni” (“Kids of the Sun”), „Vērmaņdārzs” (“Vermanes park”) un „Darbs” (“Work”). While the first part of “Latvian Jazz Suite” was more focused on a classical jazz music, young composers of the second part give it a touch of contemporary music.
