Riga Jazz Stage 2022 will take place for the 13th time and will bring together young jazz artists from 13 countries. A prominent international jury will also arrive in Riga, making Riga Jazz Stage a jazz event marked on the world map of this genre.
A concert of the competition will take place on April 7 at 6 p.m. with the participation of 23 young talents from the USA, Italy, Great Britain, Germany, Poland, Belgium, Denmark, Slovakia, Turkey, Ukraine and the Baltic States.
The final of the competition will take place on April 8 at 6 p.m., where the candidates selected by an international jury, who will undoubtedly be world-class jazz talents, will perform and will be accompanied by the Riga Jazz Quartet, with pianist Kristaps Vanadziņš, guitarist Rihards Goba, bassist Jānis Rubiks, and drummer Miķelis Vīte.
Gramy Award nominee, Thelonious Monk Award winner, composer, singer and drummer Jamison Ross from the USA will perform will perform with his trio on April 9 at 7 p.m.. Ross will give a brilliant demonstration of vocal and drumming skills together.
The event is organized by the Foundation Contemporary Music Center, supported by Riga City Council, State Culture Capital Foundation, Tele 2, A&T Trade and others.
