An evening with a cappella group ACCENT

International a cappella group ACCENT is presenting their new Christmas album on December 10 at Splendid Palace. Accent is an international a cappella group of six men who have created their own niche in this popular singing style. All band members are acclaimed singers and instrumentalists outside of the band, but together they are capable of creating new vocal jazz colors.

Jean-Baptiste Craipeau (France), Simon Åkesson (Sweden), Danny Fong (Canada), Andrew Kesler (Canada), James Rose (United Kingdom) and Evan Sanders (United States) came together thanks media. They became interested in each others vocal videos on YouTube.

The group was formed in 2011, when its members began collaborating virtually on songwriting and video. In 2015, the first "Accent" album "Here We Are" was released, which immediately caught the attention of the jazz world. The real collaboration in the studio began two years ago when Accent recorded a mini-album "In This Together".

With a youngsters passion and at the same time a great experience in vocal art already, the band has rapidly become one of the contemporary a cappella style flagmen. The band members mostly compose their own memorable melodies and passionate lyrics, differing greatly from many other a cappella groups that often perform cover versions of popular songs composed by others.

In Riga, the band will surely offer insights into their new Christmas album, featuring well-known holiday songs as well as freshly composed peaces.
