Each year “Riga Jazz Stage” welcomes young jazz stars in the capital of Latvia, Riga, and gets an opportunity for them to present their selves in international level. The contest invites the audience to go along with the competitive spirit and to enjoy jazz in yet unheard interpretations.

Contestants’ performances will be judged by an international expert jury of professional musicians, producers and festival organizers from Great Britain,  Italy, USA, Germany, Turkey, and other countries. The representative of Latvia is Maestro Raimonds Pauls with his special  price.

English jazz star Anthony Strong  notes: "Riga Jazz Stage is an important jazz fixture in the calendar - up-and-coming jazz musicians should take note! I hope to come back to Riga soon!"

During the years contest has become a unique high-level jazz event in the Baltic States and the third jazz artist contest in Europe.
