Jonathan is a Brooklyn-based bassist and music educator. He has been working as a professional musician since 2010, during which time he has performed in the United States, Brazil, Ecuador, and Costa Rica.
Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, he graduated from the University of Louisville with a Bachelor’s of Music in Jazz Performance. In 2013, he relocated to Brasilia, Brazil where he worked professionally as a musician for three years. In 2016, he arrived in New York City where he is currently performing and completing his master's degree in Jazz Performance at New York University. Already, while there, he has had the unique opportunity to learn from with a diverse lineup of artists such as Drew Gress, Ron Carter, Martin Wind, Chris Potter, Adam Rogers and Billy Drummond among others. In addition to his studies, he is an adjunct music instructor at the university where he teaches private bass and guitar lessons.
