Riga Jazz Stage winners shine on Montreux Jazz Voice Competition's stage

Montreux Jazz Voice Competition is a years-going young jazz artist competition organized within the framework of Montreux Jazz Festival. This year singer from Latvia - Arta Jēkabsone, finalist of Riga Jazz Stage 2015, has won the 1st place, but Erik Leuthauser, the Grand Prix winner in the vocal category of Riga Jazz Stage 2016, got the 2nd place.

Shure Montreux Jazz Voice Competition is a years-going young jazz artist competition organized within the framework of Montreux Jazz Festival. This year singer from Latvia - Arta Jēkabsone, finalist of Riga Jazz Stage 2015, has won the 1st place, but Erik Leuthauser, the Grand Prix winner in the vocal category of Riga Jazz Stage 2016, got the 2nd place.  
 
Overall 10 vocalists were presenting their countries, such as Turkey, Austria, Lithuania, France, South Korea, Germany, etc. Competition has an international judging panel, which combined several Grammy awards winner Angélique Kidjo, Franch composer and producer Jérôme Badini, Radio France journalist Joe Farmer, Jazzwise representative Thomas Rees, vice-president of Jazz Foundation of America Mike Novogratz, and Wendy Oxenhorn – Executive Director & Vice Chairman of the Jazz Foundation of America as well as Montreux Jazz Festival’s Artists Foundation Chairman.
 
 
Competition winners also had an opportunity to take part in Montreux Jazz Academy on 18th to 26th of November.
