Halil was born in 1991. He started to play electric bass when he was 13 and double bass at the age of 17. He graduated Isilay Saygin Anatolian Fine Arts School in 2009, Dokuz Eylul University Musicology Department in 2015 and was invited to the Berklee College of Music.
He participated in workshops and festivals (Siena Jazz Workshop, California Lafayette Summer Jazz Workshop, Kentucky Louisville Jamey Aebersold Jazz Music Workshop, Texas Southern University Summer Jazz Camp, New Hampshire Bass Festival), as well as studied with Scott Colley, Dena DeRose, Anthonio Sanchez, Drew Gress, Ben Allison, Jason Lindner, Paolina Dalla Porta, Kursat And, Chris Fitzgerald, Phill Kuehn, Rufus Ried, Jamey Aebersold, Jim Stinnett, Danny Morris.
Halil performed with Ferenc Nemeth, Eddie Henderson, Bob Lanzetti, Timucin Sahin, Miguel Zenon, Sibel Kose, Jim Snidero, Kerem Gorsev, Sarp Maden, Volkan Oktem, Thomas Borchert. In 2008, he performed in Munich/ Germany with Isilay Saygın Anatolian Fine Arts School Choir and Big Band Orchestra.
